Red Dead Redemption

RDR is by far the best campaign I have ever played. RDR is about a man named John Marston who is forced to work for the government because they have his family captured. They hire him to kill his remaining former gang members. The Story takes you all over Texas and even into Meixco, the story was very enthralling and you never know where it was going. Sadly, the multiplayer isn’t quite as spectacular as the campaign. The multiplayer has the standard modes, death match and capture the flag, its fun in bursts but gets old after an hour or so. Play it? Yes! I could go on and on about this game, but see for yourself. I give this a 95/100. Not suggested for kids under 14.

Breath of Death VII

BOD is a neat RPG Indie game available over Xbox live. BOD is about a skeleton named Dem in search of adventure. there really isn’t much of a story, but the characters you talk to are often comical. BOD has turned based combat much like Pokemon games. It really isn’t special, but as you gain more attacks and more characters join your group, the combat becomes much more enjoyable. Play it? yes, this game costs a measly one dollar, It’s a must own. I give this a 65/100.

Battlefield: Bad company 2

The good: Very realistic, cool environments, more superior campaign then MW2, great mutiplayer.

The bad: Multiplayer can get boring, level up system isn’t very good, gun graphics are horrible, no killstreak rewards.

A great shooter that doesnt quite top modern Warfare 2, but it is a lot more realistic. In BBC2 you play as rookie, the newest member to a squad known as bad company. You learn of a super top-secret bomb hidden in Afghanistan and its up to you to steal it and prevent world war 3. The campaign is a blast, every level has some great new objective, like sniping in the rain, or trying to stay alive in the freezing mountains. But the best thing about BBC2 is the fact that your squad mates seem very genuine, they crack jokes, poke fun, and even talk about their family’s, it all seems like your all old friends. If that isnt all enough, BBC2 has some terrific online multiplayer with up to 18 people. There are sadly only 4 different game modes, but more are due to come out over xbox live. Play it? Yes, although you will still find MW2 more addicting, you will quite often find yourself wishing for no Chopper gunnars or tactical nukes and just want some good clean battles. I give this a 85/100.

Crackdown

The good: large city with lots to explore, boss battles are varied, guns are extremely satisfying to shoot.

The bad: Very short, Most of the achievements are a pain, not much to do besides kill the bosses.

Crackdown is a frenzied open world adventure with only a few drawbacks from the overall experience. In the crackdown you play as a unamed agent with only one task, take down the 3 major gangs in the area of pacific city. You take down these gang by taking each general in the gang, leading up too killing the kingpin. You can kill these leaders in any way you wish, even killing which gangs in order is your choice. As you play through the campaign you level up depending on what skills you use, if you use rockets to kill a boss, youre explosive skills will increase, ETC. Finding and executing the bosses is very fun, but besides that all you can really do is kill random thugs or do races, which are pretty dull by the way. Play it? Yes, pretty short so you could probaly get away with a rent on this one. i give this a 85/100. Not suggested for kids under 13.

Assassin’s Creed

AC is a great Action game with only some mundane tasks holding it down from perfection. AC is about a secret brotherhood know as the assassin’s. They maintain peace over the whole land by assassinating anyone who disrupts the peace. You will kill 8 different targets including a slave traitor and a corrupt doctor. As the story progresses you learn that a few of your targets may not have deserved to die, as you go forward you start to distrust the very people you work for. As if the story wasn’t good enough, the graphics and open world gameplay will suck you in for hours at a time. The only real problem I have with AC is that the developers included some boring tasks to get to the awesome assassinations, from climbing dozens and dozens of towers to saving the same generic citizens, the game would have been better off having more variety in the side quests. Play it? A great game with much detail, despite some lame quests, the Assassinations are nearly unrivaled for sheer epic gameplay. I give this a 90/100.

Thrillville:off the rails

TOTR is a fun and immersive theme park game. In TOTR you do missions yo level up, the higher level you are the more parks you unlock, you can level up to level 10 and getting there is really fun. The story in Thrillville is pretty dumb, a company named globo joy is secretly demolishing your parks and you have to find out whose there spy. The story may not add much to the game, but the mini games sure do, there are over 50 mini games total that can be played split screen or over xbox live, most of them are boring but 15 or so are a real blast. Play it? yes, it’s not a super long game so a rent will probably do it. I give this a 80/100.

Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition

The Good: interesting story, Good graphics, great quests, some fun guns, big world free to explore, very cool perks to play with.

The Bad: Near impossible to find ammo for the right gun, much more gory then I prefer.

Fallout 3 is an emotional and dark journey. Fallout 3 is about a world ravaged by nuclear destruction. You play as a man/woman (Depending on who you choose to be) who lives with his father in an underground vault. One day you wake up and your father is mysteriously missing. You go to find him, but little do you know how really dangerous it is out there. One thing that makes Fallout so original is VATS, VATS lets you pause the gameplay midway to select which target to pulverize, this system really works well for this type of RPG/shooter.Play it? Yes, engaging and really sucks you in, my biggest complaint was that ammo was very scarce, and hard to find. I give this a 85/100. Not suggested for kids under 15.

Fable 2

Fable II is an extraordinary adventure into the magical world of Albian.Fable II is the story of a young adventurer who lives in a ramshackle home with your older sibling (The reason I’m not mentioning gender is that you pick if you’re a boy or girl). You are poor but you manage to muster up 5 gold coins to buy a “Magical box” from a street vendor. You use it and are whisked away to a castle with an evil king who murders you and your sibling. You fall out a window but you are raised from the dead by a mysterious elf who has other plans for you. The story is great and keeps you sucked into the game. You can do many things in fable II, you can: get married, go on quests, adopt a dog, go exploring, buy real-estate, capture bandits, ETC… Play it? Fable II is by far my favorite RPG and in my top ten games, you can simply not miss out on this one. I give this a 90/100. Not suggested for kids under 15, even though the game seems harmless at first you have to make so pretty hard choices later on that kids simply can’t understand.

Wanted: weapons of fate

Even with its many flaws wanted’s action still keeps it fun. WWOF events happen right after the movie’s story left off (Which I never saw). You play as Westley Snipes, and in flashbacks, his father. WWOF is about man named Wesley who is trying to track down the man who killed his mother. During the main story, you will sometimes play a flash back as Westley’s father, before he was killed. The main attraction of WWOF is your ability to bend bullets, when you get a kill you get whats called adrenaline. You can use up one adrenaline point to bend a bullet around a surface, this is very fun and adds a lot of strategy to the regular run-a-gun action. Play it? Yes, even though it is extremely short (under 5 hours) and much to easy (even on the hardest diffuculty) it’s very addictive and requires some cool actions for the achievements. I give this a 75/100. Not suggested for kids under 15.

Army of two: The 40th Day

Army of Two is Personally one of my favorite games, while it lasts. AOT is about a terrorist attack on Shanghai. You play as either Salem or Rios, two mercenaries in Shanghai. The whole object of the game is to make it out of Shanghai alive, on the way you can make choices, such as whether to save hostages. Another cool feature is the morality choices you face in every level, You can either make the good choice, or the bad choice. You are then show via cut scene how your actions affected others lives, and sometimes the “Right” decision isn’t really the “Right” decision. Another thing that really made this game stand out of the crowd was its weapon customization. You can change almost everything on your gun from putting bayonets to camos on it. Play it? Yes, unusually short (6 hours) but still very fun. I give this a 85/100. Not suggested for kids under 14.
