Harry Potter and the deathly hollows: pt 1

HPTDH was a dissapointing movie to one of my favorite books. HPTDH is about Harry (Daniel Radcliff) Ron and Hermoine leaving hogwarts and going on there qwest to find the remaining horcrux’s. Beacuse they split the movie into two parts, the film seemed drawn out and had some obvious pacing problems. Watch it? Yes. Although this is a negative review, the series has its top marks from me, this was just a weaker entry then others. I give this a 7.0/10.

Jackass 3D

After seeing Jackass one, I was a little hesitant about seeing 3D, I wasnt sure I would like it, but I am sure glad I went. Jackass 3d is about a group of friends (Johnny Knoxville, Bam Magera, Steve-o, etc.) who do idiotic stunts for fun. There were two improvements over the first Jackass that made this movie so good, The stunts were much more funny, and the 3d was very cool. Watch it? Yes, I suggest getting a group of friends (Probley guys) and going to this in 3d. I give this a 90/100. Not suggested for kids under 15, girls will probley hate this movie.

The Blair Witch Project

TBWP is a suspenseful story shot on an amateur video camera to try to make it seem more real, and it does. TBWP is about a trio of friends who decide to make a movie concerning a local legend about a witch that lives in the nearby woods. As they delve into the woods they get lost,  and wired events begin to happen. there map disappears, they start finding piles of rock around their tent, they hear children screaming at night. The movie was all filmed to try to make it seem like real footage, it didn’t fool me but it definitely gave it a realistic feel much like paranormal activity. Watch it? Maybe, it’s a slow thriller, but the tension really starts to mount near the end. I give this a 65/100. Not suggested for kids under 14, or anyone who cant realize it’s fake.

The other guys

TOG is not a very smart comedy, nor a very great one, but the great banter put up by the incompatible partnership between Whalberg and Ferrell is priceless. TOG is about two cops (Will Ferrell and Mark Whalberg) who nobody really likes, one is a dork, and the other shot Derek Jeter. There some really funny jokes, but some parts didn’t make sense (Such as two fairly intelligent men randomly jumping off a building). Watch it? Depends heavily on whether you enjoy the two starring actors. I give this a 70/100.

Jonah hex

JH was a very big disappointment in many ways. JH is about a man (Josh Brolin) named Jonah Hex who is forced to watch as an outlaw burns his family alive. After that night, Hex goes across the whole country, looking for the man who killed his family. The movie was poorly made, the action and villans were cliché, and the plot got dumber and more unrealistic as it went on.  There were some funny scenes and Megan Fox heightened the experience, but even she was given very little screen time. Watch it? no, although I did somehow kinda enjoy it, it is not a well done movie. I give this a 60/100. Not suggested for kids under 13.

Iron man 2

IM2 is an explosive action movie that met all my expectations. IM2 is about Tony stark shortly after he Tells the world he is Iron man. Most people accept him as a great man, but a few plot to kill him. While people plot to kill a unsaspecting Tony, he falls ill because of his  energy source in his body. He soon learns he is going to die so he decides to do crazy stuff untill he dies. The second did’nt quite top the first for me, but i thought that the second had better acting, a better story, and more great humor. Watch it? Yes, very entertaining. I give this a 85/100.

The Hurt Locker

A movie that sucked me in so far I thought I was in Iraq. THl is based on the true events going on in Iraq. The movie follows 3 young men in a bomb disarming unit. THL don’t really glorify the violence of war, it shows how war is hell and it’s not something you would go do to have fun. Watch it? Yes! Very powerful and lifelike, almost felt like a documentary, in a good way. I give this a 90/100. Not suggested for kids under 14.

The Book of Eli

an excellent movie with a pro-christen message. TBOE is about a man named Eli (Denzel Washignton) who is told by god to bring the last bible on earth west. As you might guess, the The last copy of the bible is very precious and many would kill for it. The Screenplay is phenomenal and I don’t think that anyone could create a more realistic postapocalyptic world. Watch it? Please do, My favorite action movie of all time, but not for younger audiences. I give this a 95/100. Not suggested for kids under 15.

The Lovely Bones

A quirky little murder movie that could have achieved greatness.  The biggest thing that holds this movie back was the wierd “in-between” scenes. Although they were beautiful, they muddled the plot and ruined the dark feeling. LB is about a 14-year-old girl named Susie Salmon who is lured into a trap by her neighbor, she is then murdered. The police can’t find any evidence of value and must finally give up on the case. The Neighbor begins to feel the itch for murder again and goes after Susie’s sister. While this is going on Susie watches, and helps, from the In-between. Watch it? Creepy and Dark, but also bright and Vibrant, I just cant put a finger on this one. I give this a 65/100.

Sherlock Holmes

Although a bit predictable, and a tad disappointing, Sherlock Holmes Delivers solid Action and a decent mystery. SH is about Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey JR) who is trying to convince his parter, Watson (Jude Law) to solve one more case before he gets married. The final case of Holmes and Watson is a magician trying to bring about the end of the world. Watch it? Yes, Robert Downey is a great actor, another big disappointment was the lack of humor, I only laughed 4 times or so. I give this a 70/100. Not suggested for kids under 13.
