Saw 3

Saw 3 was quite diffrent then the first two in the series, but also better in some ways and worse in others. Saw 3 follows the story of a man saddened by the death of his son. Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) decides to put him through some tests and make him value his life and, ultimately, forgive the man that killed his son. I found the plot fair, untill the final 15 minutes, then everything exploded into greatness and really heightened the experience for me. Watch it? Yes, the movie had some much better acting then the first two, but also lacked the barebones production values I enjoyed from the first two. I give this a 7.0/10. Not suggested for kids under 14.

Waynes world

WW is a surprisingly boring comedy that really disappointed me. WW is about two guys (Mike Myers and Dana Carvey) who do a late night cable access show. They get recognised by a bigshot videogame arcade owner who sponsors them. Watch it? No, Despite many of my friends giving much praise to this movie, I found it bland and only redeeming quality, Mike Myers and a brief cameo by Chris Farley. I give this a 6.0/10.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

REA is a good action movie with a decent story. REA is about a girl named Alice (Mila Johovich) who is one of the few remaining people on earth after an evil company called umbrella released a virus that turned most people into zombies. She tries to locate a saposed “safe zone” in Alaska but runs into trouble once she gets there. Watch it? Yes, I liked it and I havent even seen any of the others in the series, this movie got me interested. I give this a 7.0/10. Not suggested for kids under 14.

Harry Potter and the deathly hollows: pt 1

HPTDH was a dissapointing movie to one of my favorite books. HPTDH is about Harry (Daniel Radcliff) Ron and Hermoine leaving hogwarts and going on there qwest to find the remaining horcrux’s. Beacuse they split the movie into two parts, the film seemed drawn out and had some obvious pacing problems. Watch it? Yes. Although this is a negative review, the series has its top marks from me, this was just a weaker entry then others. I give this a 7.0/10.

Bless the child

BTC is a horrible horror movie that has only one thing going for it, its funny, but not even inntentionaly. BTC is about a lady who has a daughter who is the only person that can save us from some unknown evil. Watch it? No, The plot sucked the acting was bad, and the effects were even worse, they looked like 1980 graphics. I give this a 4.0/10. The gore is so fake that I think most people can see it, not that they should.

Dodgeball

Dodgeball is a very middling comedy despite having an All-star cast. Dodgeball is about a guy (Vince Vaughn) who owns a small gym called “average joe’s”. The bank wants to close average joe’s because he isn’t paying the rent, so he decides to try to raise enough money, with a little help from his friends. Watch it? No. It was pretty dumb and didn’t make me laugh all that much. I give this a 5.5/10. Not suggested for kids under 12.

Saw 2

Saw 2 is a good horror movie that is more what I thought the first would be like, people in a maze getting killed by various means. Saw 2 is about the killer jigsaw (Tobin Bell) kidnapping more victims for his twisted games. Jigsaw captures a detectives son and puts him in a house full of convicted felons, the police find and arrest jigsaw, but if the detective wants to get his son back, hell have “To play a little game”. Watch it? Yes, please watch them in order. I give this a 7.0/10. Not suggested for kids under 14.

saw

Saw is a hard movie to describe. I started the movie expecting it to be a grisly, gory movie that I would hate. In reality, the movie shocked me with how thoughtful the plot was, not to say there wasnt some blood, but the worst wasnt even show on camera. Saw is about a doctor and a camera man who are trapped in a room with nothing but a tape recorder and chains around their ankles, they slowly learn secrets in the room and try many ways to get out. They discover that a serial killer is holding them by the name of jigsaw (Tobin Bell) , who is famous for making people go through impossible and dangerous situations so, if they survive, will appreciate life better. Despite the poor production values and some spotty acting, the movie, altogether, was good. Watch it? Yes. I give this a 6.5/10. Not suggested for kids under 13.

My top movies of 2010

Just want to make this clear, a couple of my choices technically came out in 2009, but im counting movies that were released on dvd in 2010 that I didnt see in theaters.

10.  Iron Man 2

IM2 was a great sequel to the original Iron Man, it didn’t blow me away but I wasnt expecting this good of a sequel.

9.  Daybreakers

DB was a totally creative look at a very dire future. This movie was nothing like I’d ever seen before.

8.   Jackass 3D

J-3D wasnt exactly a quality film, but I couldn’t leave it out of my list because it was the funniest movie i’ve seen all year.

7.   A Perfect Getaway

APG was a great mystery that kept even me guessing, with some great acting and likable characters I really cared about what happened.

6.  Shutter Island

SI wowed me with its suburb environment and plot that really grabbed my attention until its shocking conclusion.

5.    The Book of Eli

TBOE blew me away when I saw it all those months ago, the surreal environment and great action that didn’t compromise the story makes TBOE a must see.

4.  Zombieland

Z-Land was a terrific comedy that didnt rely on dirty humor most R-rated comedy’s do, substituting in great characters and witty banter to make you laugh.

3. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Movie Poster Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Although I havent even had time to officially review this movie there are many reasons this movie ranked so high on the list. During the first 20 minutes I couldn’t stand the movie, the odd jokes and unrealistic graphics mixing into real life, But after a while I got into the movie and started noticing how greatly groundbreaking the movie was, there is absolutely NOTHING like this movie out there, strongly suggested for all you gamers out there.

2.   Inception

Just barely missing my top movie of 2010 is inception. Chances are if your reading this you’ve already seen this movie, but if you havnt please do yourself a favor and watch this movie, it’s a great thinker.

1.  Kickass

A truly great action/comedy that wowed me with a movie that I utterly enjoyed. After watching it I went to bed, woke up, and just started it again, seriously, it’s that good.
